Mechanical wood pulp prodn. appts. comprises a rotary grinding stone for grinding wood. A control valve controls the amount of floating matter both in the trough, and is established in the inlet of the discharging-pipe. The trough is constructed in the lowest position of the rotary grinding stone. The width of the rotary grinding stone and the trough is same.
