<p>PURPOSE:To insure a user against a misstoring, damaging and losing a disk medium by inhibiting a medium handling mechanism from taking in and out a disk medium in a normal action mode and releasing the inhibition in a maintenance mode. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is equipped with a storing part 10 which arranges plural disk media so as to take out and stores then, and the medium handling mechanism 20 taking disk media in and out of the containing part 10. The exclusive storing position for a maintenance disk medium is set to the storing part 10. In the normal action mode the medium handling mechanism 20 is inhibited from taking in and out disk media at the exclusively used storing position, whereas in the maintenance mode the inhibition is released. Thus without inserting and ejecting the disk medium of a user, the disk medium for the maintenance is inserted to the exclusively used containing position to test and recognize the action of the disk device, whereby erroneous storage, damage and loss can be surely prevented.</p> |
