Improvements brought to machines for loading transport pallets. Carriages 16, 17 which can move along the length of uprights 2, 3 have a narrowed lower portion 20 which unblocks a free space 21 towards the outside of these uprights 2, 3, in which free space there are lower return wheels 12, 13 when the carriages 16, 17 are in their lowest position, whilst the lower end of the narrowed portion 20 is equipped with a lower horizontal fin 23 which serves as a support to a profiled member 24 on the lower fin of which the reception and transfer metal sheet 19 slides so that the latter descends low enough to load a pallet which is placed directly on the floor 14. <IMAGE>
