An optical view-finder has a penta-roof reflecting mirror 1, an eye-level eye-piece 2 and a waistlevel eye-piece 3, light entering the view-finder being directed to either eye-piece under the control of a cam 13 which is rotated by a knob 15 from outside of the view-finder. The cam has three working surfaces 13a, 13b, 13c and is movable between three predetermined positions. A shaft 9 is rotatably supported on the view-finder supporting frames and carries a planar reflecting mirror 4 and a lever 8 which has a pin 9 at its face end for engaging the cam surfaces. A three-armed lever 10 pivotted at 11 has a first arm 10a which carries a pin 12 which engages the cam surfaces and a bifurcated second arm 10b. A two-armed intermediate lever 16 has on one arm 16a a pin 18 which engages the bifurcated portion 10ba of lever 10 and on a second arm 16b a pin 20 for pivotably connecting arm 16b to a lever 19 which controls movement of an eye-level eye-piece shielding plate 23 and to a lever 30 which controls movement of a photo-metric element 27. In one position of cam 13, light reaches waist-level eye-piece 3 by reflection from mirror 4, eye-level eyepiece 2 is shielded by plate 23, and photo-metric element 27 is directed to focusing plane 5a of a focusing plate 5. In a further position of the cam, mirror 4 is retracted to the position shown in dash-dot outline, shielding plate 23 is moved to unblock eye-level eye-piece 2 which receives light reflected from a final reflecting surface 1b, and photo-metric element remains in its partial light measuring position. In the third position of the cam, mirror 4 and shielding plate 23 remain as in the last position, but photo-metric element faces the final reflecting mirror 1b. A click stop is used to enable positive location of the three cam positions and allow cam rotation only in the clockwise sense. The view-finder may be used in a single lens reflex camera. |
