An apparatus for preparing dates is proposed, which is provided with a device (10, 10') for receiving dates, which has a base body (11) having a recess (12) for receiving a date on its upper surface and at least one holding element (14, 15) for holding the date to be placed in the recess. The holding element is prestressed against the recess or the date placed therein by means of a spring. The device is transportable via a conveyor device (3) from the filling station to the individual treatment stations.
