The invention simplifies and improves the production of the bodies of motor vehicle trailers, in that the tailgates are not composed of a large number of different lightweight metal hollow profiles, which sometimes have to be cut with extreme precision for mitring, as was previously the case, but rather are formed from a single tailgate profile whose corners are composed without mitre cutting in corner profiles of the usual type while the floor is laid on an angular web formed onto the tailgate profile and can be constructed to have any desired strength and from any desired materials and can also be changed, in which case the single-piece construction of the tailgate profile saves weight and a considerable reduction of the surfaces to be anodised is achieved.
