Nitrogen fertilisers containing a nitrification inhibitor allow a particularly high utilisation of nitrogen when the fertilisers are in the form of granules of particle size 3 to 16 mm, preferably 6 to 10 mm, which are prepared by compressing or granulating. The nitrification inhibitor used is dicyandiamide.
