PURPOSE:To enable the transmission of normal and reversal rotation while simplifying the construction and operation by pushing balls, provided between the cam fixed to a main driving shaft and the tapered surface formed on a driven member, into the narrower side on the tapered surface against spring pressure through an operating lever. CONSTITUTION:To transmit the rotation of a driving shaft 1 to a driven gear 2 by locking a clutch, during operation, an operating gear 12 is turned in the direction of C. And then, since a ball retainer 7 is pushed against a coned disk spring 8 toward the bottom side of the recess of the driven gear 2 through a collar 5 and a slide bearing 6, balls 4 are closely brought in contact with the tapered surface 13 provided on the inner periphery of the recess of the driven gear 2 and a cam 3, causing the status of transmitting rotation. Supported between the cam 3 and the tapered surface 13, the balls 4 roll in the radial direction of the cam 3 and are tightened, regardless of the direction whether in the normal or reversed direction, tightly locking the driven gear 2 and the cam 3. To release the clutch from locking, the operating lever 12 is turned in the direction of B. |
