The invention relates to an arrangement for the administration of medicaments, consisting of a metering device with an associated control arrangement. The aim is to provide a safety arrangement for devices of this type, which safety arrangement prevents a dangerous overdosage when the person using the device is unable to act. According to the invention, the metering device (1) therefore has means (20-43) which switch off the metering device (1) or switch it to a reduced delivery rate (so-called stand-by rate) and/or trigger an alarm unless an operating procedure is triggered within a specific time interval or after administration of a specific quantity of medication.
