Interchangeable containers (23) with ink reservoir chambers (25) for ink printing units can only be used after a relatively long period of storage if they have a low degree of permeability to gas and water vapour. The invention is based on the object of providing interchangeable containers (23) which can be stored and have a simple and cheap design, without the serviceability of the ink printing unit being put at risk after a relatively long period of storage. This is ensured according to the invention by providing two housing parts (45, 47) with symmetrically constructed chamber halves (31, 33) worked into their dividing plane and a diaphragm (29). This diaphragm (29) is connected to a housing part (47) in a gas-tight and fluid-tight manner and has a deep-drawn preform (59) which when the ink chamber (25) is fully filled rests against the wall (61) of the chamber half (33) with the opening (43) to the atmosphere and when the ink chamber (25) is empty rests free of folds against its wall (63). As a result, the gas permeability and water vapour permeability of the interchangeable containers (23) are considerably reduced, as a result of which long-term storage stability is ensured. <IMAGE>
