Fire-retardant door leaf

A fire-retardant door leaf is described, with reinforcements arranged inside an outer sheet metal casing (1) and with filling plates (5, 6) which bear against the inside of the sheet metal casing (1) and are made of heat-insulating, non-combustible material, e.g. gypsum plaster. The reinforcements comprise at least one vertical metal profile (2) for reinforcing the lock-side door edge. The metal profile (2) is heat-protected by the heat-insulating, non-combustible material (of the filling plate 6) only on one side of the door leaf, that is to say on the side bearing against the rebate of the case. The metal profile (2) bears unprotectedly against the sheet metal casing (1) on the other (opposite) side of the door leaf. Preferably, the metal profile (2) is designed as a U-shaped profile with legs (2', 2'') of different length. At the same time, the shorter leg (2') bears directly against the sheet metal casing (1) and the longer leg (2'') is arranged at a distance from the sheet metal casing (1), the heat-insulating, non-combustible material (of the filling plate 6) being interposed. In the event of fire, the leg (2') of the metal profile (2) can heat up quickly and presses with its ends the lock-side corners of the door leaf sealingly against the door case. <IMAGE>
