<p>Modern infusion therapy and parenteral alimentation very often necessitate the simultaneous administration of several medication substances or nutrients which, during sterilisation and storage, undergo incompatibility reactions and for this reason are prepared in separate containers and are mixed together in mixed infusion bags just before use or are infused simultaneously through Y-pieces. The preparation of the mixed infusion solutions in mixed infusion bags involves a considerable expenditure in terms of labour and, like the admixture of solutions, entails an additional risk of contamination. The purpose of this invention is to eliminate these disadvantages by using multicompartment bags. These are made of plastic, like the conventional bags, but differ from the latter in that they are divided into two or more compartments, which are separated from one another by dividing walls and have break lines welded in. By means of suitable handling, these dividing walls can be torn open from the outside so that the contents of the compartments can be mixed together. Various solutions intended for preparing the mixed infusion solution are filled into the different compartments, sterilised and stored.
