In a dump body consisting of a frame which can be fastened to a lifting means and of a skip which contains the material to be fed or transported and can be swivelled with respect to the frame, where the centre of gravity of the skip can move away from the frame in the tilting direction during the skip-discharging operation, the aim is to ensure a reliable emptying and a simple structural design of the dump body. For this purpose, there is mounted on the frame at least one support (2) which extends horizontally when in the rest position, the free end (2a) of which support is provided with a swivel pin (5) for the skip (4) which extends transversely with respect to the support longitudinal axis and is longitudinally displaceable along a guide (8) arranged on the skip floor (7), and a holding linkage (9) is hinge-mounted at a fixed point (11) on the frame in the upper region of the skip, the end of this linkage pointing towards the rear (4b) of the skip (4), where it acts on the lower region of the skip causing it to pivot. <IMAGE>
