The application relates to a suspension for helical tension springs, in particular stress-relief springs for motor vehicle panels which can be raised, the limbs on the ends of which springs are bent in a circular manner to form a spring eye and are constructed to engage in or behind associated suspension supports, it being possible to vary the tension direction of said spring relative to the suspension supports by pivoting at least one of the suspension supports of each helical tension spring, and the suspension supports being arranged in such a manner that a relative rotation, corresponding to the deflection angle of the helical tension spring, between the spring eyes and the contact surface of the suspension supports can be compensated for. In order to avoid objectionable creaking noises, the so-called "stick-slip effect", when such suspensions have been stored dry, dimensioning rules are specified according to the invention for dimensioning the spring eye which can be pivoted with the suspension support.
