PURPOSE:To make a bearing mass-producible in an inexpensive manner as well as to improve its finishing accuracy ever so better, by grinding each of opposed concave grooves to be formed on the inner circumference of a bearing body whose section is almost U-shaped, in a way of making a grinding wheel having the same width as the concave groove contact with this groove at a specified infeed angle. CONSTITUTION:A bearing body 1 available in an endless sliding bearing unit consists of a block body whose section is in almost U-shaped form and provides a nearly rectangualar type hollow concavity 2, both sides of which are designed to form skirt parts 3 and 4 each. And, each of almost trapezoidally sectioned concave grooves 5 and 6 are symmetrically installed in the inner circumferential side of these skirt part 3 and 4. In time of forming each of ball transfer surfaces 7-10 in an angle part at both sides of these concave grooves 5 and 6 of the bearing body 1 aforesaid, a pair of grinding wheels G in thickness T having a grinding edge G, in curvature identical to that of a ball is used. These grinding wheels G are set in position after tilting a rotation center line C, at a specified infeed angle alpha in relation to a horizontal line from X to X on a wheel quasi-surface S and thus offered for grinding. |
