The invention relates to an oscillatory drive which generates mechanical, directed oscillations using more than one pair of rotational or unbalance exciters. The object of the invention is to make all the individual rotational or unbalance exciters which are driven independently of one another with approximately identical initial speed of revolution to assume a phase-position conditioned synchronisation without gearing and independently so that a directed overall oscillation is achieved from the addition of the oscillations of all the individual exciters. The object of the invention is achieved by means of a coupling according to the invention of known exciter pairs by means of a balance arm-like coupling element. In this way, expensive gears become superfluous. The invention can be used at all points at which it is necessary to operate with relatively large, directed exciter forces such as were to be expected from the [lacuna] previously restricted to the maximum possible self synchronisation of an exciter pair alone and its use. Here, preferably rams, vibrator conveyor systems, screening machines, compressing devices etc., accordingly in relatively large dimensions, can be used, inter alia, as the devices to be driven. <IMAGE>
