Logs (4) traveling on a longitudinal conveyor (3) are ejected in the desired direction by means of an ejecting member (5) driven by two pressure medium actuated single-action drive cylinders (7, 8). By controlling the drive cylinders (7, 8) the ejecting member (5) can be caused to stop precisely in its waiting position (Fig. 1) and at the end of the ejecting movement (Fig. 2). The stopping at the above-mentioned positions does not require external control. At the end of the operating movements the cylinders (7, 8) cannot strike all the way down. |
