A suspension strut mounting for motor vehicles comprises an inner sleeve (20), to which a surrounding rubber bushing (15) is vulcanized and in which the upper end of the suspension strut shock absorber piston rod (7) is held. The bushing is securely held in a surrounding sleeve element (13, 14), which is in turn mounted in the vehicle wheel housing. The underside of the bushing provides a seat (32) for a spring suspension. A washer (22) with a rubber bead (24) is held tightly against the upper edge of the inner sleeve, there being a small gap (s) between the bead and an abutment (25), so that minor spring movements and vibrations are absorbed solely by the bushing (15), while major spring movements result in the bead (24) being pressed against the abutment to increase the resistance to movement by the piston rod relative to the mounting. The bead (24) is of harder rubber than the bushing (15). <IMAGE> |
