PURPOSE:To detect the damage surely in the early stage, by receiving the light, which is leaked from a core to a clad, by a light receiving material attached to the end part of the clad and detecting the damage on a basis of the change of this light. CONSTITUTION:A light receiving material 3 such as a photodiode is provided on the side of an incidence end 5 of a fiber 1 for energy transmission. A reflecting material 7 to which silver or the like is vapor-deposited is provided on the side of an exit end 6 to reflect the laser lght, which is leaked from a core 4 to a clad 2, near the end 6. A comparator 8 is not operated when a voltae is outputted from the light receiving material 3; but when the voltage output is (0), that is, the voltage of the reflected light is not outputted, the comparator 8 is operated to stop the oscillation of a laser light source 10 through a relay 9. |
