PURPOSE:To provide the titled water ink which contains a water-soluble direct or acid dye, a water-soluble organic solvent, a specified water-soluble surfactant, a water-soluble preservative/mildewproofing agent and water, is not susceptible to deterioration and deposition during storage and is excellent in stability and response to ejection. CONSTITUTION:The water ink contains a water-soluble direct or acid dye, a water-soluble organic solvent, a specified water-soluble surfactant, a water-soluble preservative/mildewproofing agent and water. used as water-soluble surfactant is polyoxyethylene phenyl ether and/or polyoxyethylene trialkylphenol ether of formula I (where n is 3-9; X is 2-3; y is 12-25). Among polyoxyethylene phenyl ethers shown by formula I , those of formula II (where m is 4-9; y is 12-25) and of formula III (wherein n is 3-4; y is 3-25) are prefered. |
