PURPOSE:To prevent the internal foaming that will otherwise occur when the operation is started and to make an endless rubber belt homogeneous, by preheating a vulcanizing drum before the operation is started, cooling a heating drum lower surface section by a refrigerant, removing the refrigerant, and carrying out reheating. CONSTITUTION:Before the starting, heated steam is introduced by a heat supply pipe 14 into the vulcanizing drum 1 to preheat the upper surface section 20 to about 150- 160 deg.C, and the drain is discharged through a pipe 15. After the preheating, the deaeration is carried out through a discharging pipe 16, a refrigerant is injected via a drain pipe 16 to cool the lower surface section 21 to about 80-90 deg.C, and the condensed water is discharged by compressed air. Then heated steam is introduced and at the same time, the drain pipe 15 is closed. With this temperature distribution kept, when an unvulcanized rubber belt 2 is mounted, and the operation is started, the rise of the temperature at the lower surface section can be suitably suppressed to keep the temperature at 120 deg.C or below, and when the drum 1 is rotated once, the drain pipe 15 is opened to allow the lower surface temperature to rise to about 150 deg.C. Thus, the internal foaming that will otherwise occur when the operation is started can be prevented, and a homogeneous product can be obtained. |
