PURPOSE:To improve the S/N of a reproduced color burst signal without spoiling its interchangeability by band-restricting the color burst signal with a band restricting circuit having a narrow pass band to eliminate unnecessary components, then mixing the signal with a carrier chrominance signal. CONSTITUTION:The reproduced signal from a video head 10 is amplified by a pre-amplifier 1 and then supplied to an FM modulation circuit 8 and a color signal processing circuit 2. The circuit 2 separates the color signal and executes a prescribed processing, and further separates said signal into the carrier chrominance signal and the color burst signal. The carrier chrominance signal is band-restricted by a band restricting circuit 3. Also the color burst signal is band-restricted by a band restricting circuit 4. And the two signals are mixed with each other by a mixing circuit 5. A color signal from the circuit 5 is supplied to a frequency converting circuit 6 where its frequency is converted to its original high band using a carrier signal from a color-signal phase controlling circuit 7. The output of the circuit 6 is supplied to the circuits 7 and a mixing circuit 9. Consequently, the S/N of the color burst signal is improved.
