PURPOSE:To attain easily suitable image formation possible for the recognition of size of an original image and in response to the size, by detecting a coordinate where the original image is placed from a picture data obtained through photoelectric conversion. CONSTITUTION:A picture data VIDEO is inputted in the unit of 8-bit to a shift register 301, a gate circuit 302 checks whether or not all 8-bit data are white picture at the end of input, and (1) is outputted to a signal line 303 when Yes. After the scanning of original, when the first 8-bit white picture appears, an F/F 304 is set. This F/F is reset in advance by a VSYNC (picture tip signal). Then, it is left set until the next VSYNC comes. When the F/F304 is set, the value of a main scanning counter 351 is loaded to a latch F/F305. This is taken as X coordinate. Further, the value of a sub-scanning counter 350 is loaded to a latch 306. This is taken as the Y1 coordinate. |
