PURPOSE:To provide a titled jig which permits an exact welding operation and improves working efficiency in an operation which welds the end faces of pipings in press contact with each other by the mechanism wherein the outside circumferences of both pipes are restrained and the end faces are brought into press contact with each other in axial alignment. CONSTITUTION:The 1st piping 1 and the 2nd piping 2 having the end faces machined and chamfered at a right angle to the axial line are held into contact with each other at the end faces, are put, in this state, into the recesses of an upper block 12 and a lower block 13 and are tightened by means of bolts 18. Screw rods 16 for tightening are turned and tightened while the axial lines of the pipes are aligned to each other by guide bars 14, 15 whereby both pipe ends are correctly brought into press contact with each other. The pipe ends are manually or automatically welded in this state. The bolts 18 are loosened and the jigs are removed after welding and the welding operation is completed. The exact welding of the pipes by the simple operation is accomplished by using such jig. |
