A bayonet lock for an interchangeable lens in a photographic camera comprises a female ring (4) mounted on the camera housing, and a male ring (6) mounted on the lens, with lugs and apertures of different lengths. The female ring is a punched metal member retained on the housing by a screw collar ring (3). The collar (3a) has a cylindrical inner surface for centering the lens during insertion. The female ring is bent at least along a diametrical line, and the resulting deformation is bent back by tightening the screw collar ring. The female ring may be fixed to the housing by a locking pin and is cheap but is not distorted on insertion of heavy lenses, and is guided during insertion to reduce tilting and jamming to a min. Also the lock avoids formation of burrs. |
