<p>Title cpd. is made by reaction of 2-bromo 1-(2,4-dichlorophenyl) ethanone with 1,2,3-propane triol in 5-10% excess of the stoichiometric quality. Reaction takes place in an inert organic solvent such as benzene, toluene or analogues in presence of a water-separating system, at the reflux temp. of the solvent. - The prod. is useful as an intermediate in synthesis of cpds. with biological activity.</p> |
