PURPOSE:A cosmetic composition in which a combination of a raffinose ester of a higher fatty acid and a sucrose ester of a fatty acid is used to improve its emulsion stability and further solcoseryl is added to improve mild and moist feel on skins after use, smoothness of skin and spreadability of the cosmetic. CONSTITUTION:A combination of a raffinose ester of 14-20C fatty acid, preferably myristic or stearic acid and a sucrose ester of a fatty acid is mixed with solcoseryl to give a stabilized cosmetic composition which is free from mutagenicity, causes no skin irritation, gives skins mild and moist feel after use, because of humectant properties of solcoseryl and shows high stability over a wide pH range. When solcoseryl is combined with DNA and they are dissolved in a raffinose ester of a higher fatty acid and sterilized, the humectant performance is increased by 30-60% more.
