The invention relates to a process for attaching objects like buttons to fabrics. The object 1 is made of a plastic and includes a head 2, which is to be placed on one side of the fabric, and a projecting part 3, which is at least partly to be passed through the fabric and is deformed to provide a deformation head on the other side of the fabric with respect to the side where the head is situated. The process is characterized in that, in conjunction with the passage of the projecting part 3 through the fabric, one ensures that loose thread ends are formed in the resulting situation, which thread ends can be combined with the deformation head. Another characteristic of the process is that the deformation head is formed with the aid of a tool that is subjected to oscillations in the ultrasound region and is pressed against the end of the projecting part 3 in such a way that its material softens and forms the required deformation head. <IMAGE> |
