PURPOSE:To increase the accumulation amount of L-proline, by cultivating a bacterium capable of producing L-proline in a medium containing an inorganic ammonium salt in a specific molar range, feeding a carbon source continuously or intermittently to the medium after the propagation of the bacterium reaches an equilibrium period. CONSTITUTION:A bacterium such as Brevibacterium flavum (FERM-P 5332), Corynebacterium glutamicum (FERM-P 5342), etc. is cultivated in a medium containing 6-10g/dl carbon source and 0.17-0.27mol inorganic ammonium salt. When the propagation of the bacterium reaches an equilibrium period, the carbon source is fed to it continuously or intermittently, so that the concentration of the carbon source is kept in 0.5-6g/dl range. |
