1-Glycosidic derivs. of 5-diacylamino 2-bromomethyl imidazoles of formula (I), (R1 is acyl; R2 is derived from a carboxylic acid; R3 is a glycosidic radical with its OH gps. fully protected by ester or ether functions), are made by (1) reacting a cpd. of formula (II) with a B7 alpha B7-aminocyano cpd.; (2) treating the prod. with a carboxylic acid or anhydride in presence of an acidic or basic catalyst to obtain a cpd. of formula (III); and (3) treating (III) with N-bromo succinimide in a non-polar solvent.
