The silencer (2), for reducing water noise which is produced in sanitary fittings, especially in single-hole mixer taps (1) and consisting of permanently elastic material, has through-openings (4) for the corresponding flow media, cold water and hot water in the present case. The silencer is mounted in a blind hole (5) in the mounting base (3) of the tap such that the through-openings communicate with the corresponding pipelines (9, 10) for the flow media. Flanges (7) of the silencer rest on the wall of the blind hole (5). The cavities which are produced between the wall of the blind hole and reinforcing ribs (8) on the silencer outer surface reinforce the noise silencing character of the silencer. <IMAGE> |
