The invention relates to a fish hook called "pike trap", which comprises a base-plate. The latter consists of two halves 1,2 and two hooks 3,4, which are turned in opposite direction with respect to each other, and which are fixed in their respective base-plate halves. A rivet or the like 15 is provided to hold the halves 1,2 apart. A torsion spring is inserted in the base-plate to keep the hooks 3,4 turned towards each other, and so to achieve the first position. In this position, the tips of the hooks partly overlap each other in top view. With a simultaneous tension exerted by the spring, the hooks 3,4 can be turned manually relative to each other, together with their base-plate halves, from the above first position to a priming position. In this new position, the hooks form an angle of the order of at least 90 degrees with each other. The device is also fitted with a rotatable rod 6, one end of which 7 forms a handle for a fishing line or the like, while its other end 8 is fixed to the half 1 of the base-plate and forms a locking device. In one of the rotational positions of the rod 6, and in cooperation with a ratchet edge 11 or the like on the other half 2 of the base-plate, this locking device locks the hooks 3,4 in the priming position. In the other rotational position of the rod 6, the locking device disengages from the ratchet edge, so that the hooks 3,4 return to their first position under the influence of the spring. To ensure that the end of the locking device of the rod is automatically made to engage with the ratchet edge on the manual turning of the hooks to their priming position, the ratchet edge is supplemented by an actuating device 12, which is on the same half of the base-plate as the ratchet edge and protrudes into the path of movement of the locking device end 8 of the rod. On contact with the locking device end 8, the actuating device 12 automatically turns the rod 6 into the rotational position in which the hooks 3,4 are locked as the locking device 8 moves past the actuating device 12 when the hooks 3,4 are turned by hand from their first position into their priming position. <IMAGE> |
