MANUFACTURE OF PHOTOMOSAIC ELEMENT

PURPOSE:To obtain a photomosaic element with superior bonding strength by successively forming a neutralizing layer and a timing layer on a support, exposing the timing layer to corona discharge, and forming a photographic layer contg. hydrophilic org. colloid as a binder on the timing layer. CONSTITUTION:A neutralizing layer made of cellulose acetate hydrogen phthalate, polyacrylic acid-hydroxyethyl acrylate or the like is formed on a support such as a polyester film. A timing layer made of a mixture of a vinylidene chloride terpolymer with carboxy-ester-lactone having a high mol.wt. is formed on the neutralizing layer. The timing layer is exposed to corona discharge to adjust the contact angle of the surface of the timing layer to distilled water to <=about 70 deg. without deteriorating the timing function. A photographic layer contg. hydrophilic org. colloid as a binder is then formed on the timing layer to obtain the desired photomosaic element.
