PURPOSE:To improve application efficiency of material by forming a soft metal electrode of a lithium battery through the process that polygonal metal segments are punched out from a raw material sheet of soft metal and such segments are rolled under pressure into the desired shape. CONSTITUTION:In case of forming a lithium electrode for a button type lithium battery, hexagonal lithium segments 4 are punched out from a lithium raw material sheet 1. Thereafter, these segments are arranged at the internal bottom surface of sealing cover 5 which is also used as the negative terminal, and these are formed under pressure into almost circular shape by a pressurizing jig 6. The appalication efficiency of material can be improved up to almost 90% by punching the hexagonal sheets and forming them into circular sheets through utilization of the characteristic of lithium the deformable under pressure. Accordingly, loss of material can be reduced drastically. |
