PURPOSE:To attain the measurement of temperature as defined for a high temperature region higher than the solidifying point of gold (hereinafter called ''gold point''), by using the image of a temperature measuring object which is formed by a lens to measure the temperature. CONSTITUTION:A photodetector 5 is set completely within the image of a temperature measuring object formed by a lens 2, and the quantity of electricity is obtained for the detector 5 when the temperature is measured for a black body furnace of a gold point. Then the light intensity is reduced by a known rate with use of a polarizer 4 when the temperature of the temperature measuring object is measured. Then the light intensity is set a level equal to the value obtained the quantity of electricity of the detector 5 is equal to the gold point. The reciprocal number of the reduction rate of the light intensity is equal to the ratio between the spectral density of the energy luminance of a black body to be measured and that of the black body having the gold point. Therefore the temperature is obtained when it is supposed that the ratio of spectral density is equal to a shown equation. This enables the measurement of temperature as defined for a high temperature region higher than the gold point. |
