PURPOSE:An apparatus designed to pretreat the surface to be a printed surface of a cylindrical synthetic resin material by subjecting the surface thereof to the corona discharge treatment in a specific state. CONSTITUTION:A material to be printed 19 supported by a driven roll 17 is located at a position (A), and the outer surface of the material to be printed 19 is made to face corona electrode rods 12 with a gap (H) therebetween. An electric current is passed through the electrode rods 12 in this state, and a driving roll 13 made of an electrically nonconductive material, e.g. polyurethane, is rotated and driven to treat the surface of the material to be printed 19 in the streaky form in the width of pretreating areas (l1) of the corona electrode rod 12. The material to be printed 19 together with the driven roll 17 is then located at a position (B), and the surface of the streaky part subjected to the surface treatment at the position (A) is then treated in the width of pretreating areas (l2) of the electrode rod 12 to carry out the surface treatment of the whole outer surface (surface) of the material to be printed 19. |
