This clamp is constituted in a combination by the fixed jaw 9 of an expansion clamp cooperating with the mandrel 2 of the spool and by the support 23 of a runner 24 cooperating with the external face of the rolled up part 3 of the spool, this fixed jaw 9 and this support 23 themselves serving as the respective articulations of a lever 15 controlling the movable jaw 21 of the clamp and of a lever 26 controlling the runner 24, these two levers 15, 26 being fixed to the two ends of the link 32 cooperating on the one hand with the lifting means and on the other hand with the means which make it possible to cause the clamp and thus the spool to tip, by the displacement of this link with respect to its lifting point. <IMAGE>
