An operator, in charge of the unit 1, deposits onto the upper frame 6 a certain number of panels to be painted. The conveyor 4 passes the successive frames into the automatic paint-spraying cell 2 and then brings them beneath the stack 21 of the dryer 3. This stack rises, the upper frame passing each time over the descending stack 22 from the bottom of which the frames are taken up again by a return conveyor 5 which brings them back beneath the stack in the unit 1, where the finished panels are replaced by new ones not yet painted. <IMAGE>
