PURPOSE:To prevent a rotary body from rotating at a high speed during emergengy operation, by reducing a press force, exerted on a friction body by a brake spring, by the use of a relieving means, employed in an elevator and the like and energized during emergency operation, to decrease a braking power exerted on the rotary body. CONSTITUTION:During emergency operation for rescue of passengers from confining condition, a brake coil 22 is left in a de-energized condition, and an auxiliary brake coil 28 is energized by an emergency power source. An auxiliary plunger 27 is attracted and lowered by the auxiliary brake coil 28 to turn an auxiliary cam 25 in the direction of an arrow mark E. Against the elastic force of an auxiliary brake spring 24, an auxiliary brake lever 23 is moved in the direction of an arrow mark F. Since a claw 23c is separated away from a brake lever 16, a brake lever 16 is energized by the press force of a brake spring 18 and a part of the press force of the auxiliary brake spring 24 to press a brake shoe 15 against a brake wheel 14. |
