PURPOSE:To enable to control the attitude of an inner sphere from the outside of an outer sphere manually, by forming a magnetic body part at the upper part of the inner sphere, and providing a magnetic pole controlling mechanism at the position on the outer sphere facing the magnetic body part. CONSTITUTION:An inner sphere 1 is floated in a conductive liquid 15 in an outer sphere in a gyrocompass. In this type of the gyrocompass, when it is not operated, a current is not conducted through an electromagnetic coil 11. Therefore, a holder 7 is positioned at the lowest point indicated by a solid line by its own weight. A permanent magnet 8 is protruded from a shield case 12 and approaches the upper part of the inner sphere 1. Meanwhile, the inner sphere 1 is lightly contacted with the bottom part of the outer sphere 3 by the gravity. An attracting piece 2 at the upper part is attracted by the permanent magnet 8. Therefore, the inner sphere 1 keeps the upright vertical direction. At this time, the north directing shaft of the inner sphere 1 is directed to the north by the knob of the holder 7. When the gyrocompass is started from the stationary state, the current is conducted through the electromagnetic coil 11. The permanent magnet 8 is attracted, lifted in a guide pipe 6, and moved into the coil 11. |
