The process consists in adding from 2 to 3 % of CaO or of Ca(OH)2, SiO2, quartzite or another siliceous rock to the raw materials for the manufacture of refractory bricks, in moulding together and in that, after press-shaping in moulds, a hydrothermal treatment with steam is applied in an autoclave and in that the heat treatment for the firing is applied directly at the site of use after the refractory products have been fitted.
