This device is intended to ensure that a leak in the pipe (2a, 2b) connecting the container (1) to the pumping device (4) arranged above it and containing a non-return valve (3) is immediately noticed when the pumping device is switched on. To this end, the non-return valve (3) is mounted immediately below the pumping device (4), so that when a leak (L) occurs, the feed of air into the inside of the pipe immediately causes all liquid inside the pipe (2a) to flow downwards into the container (1), it no longer being possible for the said liquid to be sucked up. The non-return valve (3) is designed in such a way that it can be mounted at a connection point of the pipe (2a, 2b) without modification of an existing device being necessary. <IMAGE>
