The present invention relates to a mobile support for magnetic track reading head and magnetic track reader provided with such a reading head. Support characterised in that it is put together in the form of an elastic element in synthetic material, or some other material exhibiting elasticity, preferably in flexible elastomer, completely or partially shrouding the reading head 2, and in that it is fixed to the body of the reader, against a wall 3 of the slot 4 for insertion of the magnetic card, in such a way as to produce leaktightness thereof whilst affording correct positioning of the head 2. <IMAGE>
