<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to simultaneously perform azimuth compression and the compensation of skew strain within a short time, by a method wherein the point of the ground surface to which lead data corresponds is permitted to continuously correspond to a range direction and the azimuth compression is performed by an azimuth reference function. CONSTITUTION:A range compression circuit 1 subjects the receiving data 101 of a time region obtained by a synthetic aperture radar to high speed Fourier conversion to be multiplied by a range reference function signal 141 and the multiplied data is sent to a corner tuning circuit 3 while converted to the data of the time region. The circuit 3 sends the input data to an azimuth compression circuit 4 while said data is rearranged to an azimuth direction. The circuit 4 performs frequency shift in such a way that the continuous line in the range direction of the point on the ground surface corresponding to the zero frequency of predetermined deflection crosses an azimuth line at right angles and data conversion is further performed to carry out range compensation while the compensated data is multiplied by an azimuth reference function signal 461 and the output thereof is converted to the complex number signal of a time region while subjected to inverse Fourier conversion treatment to be sent to an output circuit 5. The circuit 5 sends the absolute value of the complex number signal to display circuit.</p> |
