PURPOSE:To make it possible to calculate the control value of a control valve at once, in an idle speed control device comprising a bypass passage bypassing a throttle valve, by learning the basic control value of the control valve disposed in the above-mentioned passage in every driving condition having a different desired value of idle speed. CONSTITUTION:During engine operation, an electronic control device 2, discriminates, in accordance with the outputs of a throttle sensor 13, a shift lever switch 15, etc. whether the idle operation is carried out or not, and, in the case of YES, a difference Di between a desired idle speed Nf and an actual speed Ne is calculated. Then, it discriminates whether Di>0 or Di<=0, and, in the case of Di>0, a final control value Duty is calculated from the equation Duty=Dg+ Di, by using Dg+alpha for the Dg and Di-alpha for the Di. Meanwhile, in the case of Di<=0, the final control value Duty is calculated by using Dg-alpha for the Dg and Di+alpha for the Di. Then, a control valve in a bypass passage 7 is controlled in accordance with the control value Duty, and therefore, the idle speed is converged to a desired value. |
