Circuitry for starting and stopping tape recorder

The switching circuit (1) has a signal inlet (2) connected to an audio-frequency signal outlet (4) of the tape recorder (3), while a control outlet (5) is connected with a remote switching inlet (6) of the recorder. A second inlet (7) of the switching circuit is connected to a signal outlet (9) of a sensing circuit (8) whose inlet (10) is coupled to an external signal source (11). Where the output signal from the tape recorder through its audio-frequency signal outlet to the switching circuit is interrupted for longer than a given duration of time, the circuit switches the recorder off for a min. period of time. At the same time the other inlet (7) of the switching circuit is activated and the tape recorder is re-started when a signal from the external source is received through this inlet. Pref., the external signal source (14) is a microphone or an electromechanical switch. The circuitry pref. has a terminal for headphones incorporated.
