PURPOSE:To prevent cut of yarn by gathering the thread guides in the vicinity of each yarn catching groove of a plurality of bobbins at to the edge part of a taking-up apparatus and carrying-out thread guard by a suction gun and restorting each thread guide to the original position and allowing the bobbin to catch the thread, when thread guard onto an idle paper tube is performed. CONSTITUTION:In a taking-up unit 1 in which a plurality of bobbins B1-B6 are supported in series, thread guides 16a-16d corresponding to the respective bobbins B1-B6 are made shiftable along a guide cylinder 15 installed in parallel to a bobbin supporting shaft. Thread guard onto each thread guide 16a-16d is carried-out in the state where the guides are collected at the edge part, and after each guide 16a-16d is positioned in the vicinity of the thread catching groove 12a-12d of the respective bobbins B1-B6, the thread passing through each guide 16a-16d is subjected to thread guard in good order from the bobbin at the edge part, keeping a proper time intervals. A suction gun 22 which absorbs a plurality of threads in bundle maintains the state where a larger number of threads than that of the thread cut in thread guard are absorbed. |
