PURPOSE:To efficiently remove adhesive matter, by supplying stem to the water- supply pipe lines of cooling means at the wall of a blast furnace in which a plurality of sealed box-type cooling discs equipped with water-supply and drain pipe lines are embedded to circulate said steam through the passageways of the cooling discs for cooling water. CONSTITUTION:A sealed bos-type cooling disc 3 as a means for cooling the wall of a blast furnace has a water-supply main pipe 4, a drain conduit 5, a water- supply pipe 6, a communicating pipe 7 and a drain pipe 8. The connection of said water-supply pipe 6 to the water-supply main pipe 4 is disengaged, and the water-supply pipe 6 is connected to a steam-supply pipe 9. Thereafter, steam is supplied through the steam-supply pipe 9. Said steam is sent through the water-supply pipe 6 to the cooling disc 3a, sequentially fed through the communicating pipe 7 to each cooling disc 3b-3d and then discharged through the drain pipe 8 to the drain conduit 5. By the fluidization of the steam in this way, adhesive matter adhering onto the inner wall surface of each pipe is removed. |
