A hydraulic system (10, 12) for the components of a street sweeper (14) or the like which includes a hydraulic pump (300) and tank (T') connected in series with the motor (106) of an elevator (102), the motor (40) of a pick-up broom (32), the motor (66) of a right gutter broom (62) with each broom motor being driven in response to closing a by-pass valve (304, 306, 308). The system also includes a control circuit for raising and lowering the several vertically movable components and hydraulics locking them in selected positions. The hydraulic system (10, 12) further includes a hydrostatic drive system (10) including a two-speed shift control assembly (168). |
