PURPOSE:To attain a high-quality and long-life liquid crystal cell, by using a seal part to form a long liquid crystal charging path along the outside circumferential part of the cell and preventing a sealing agent for blocking a charging entrance, outside air, etc. from being charged into the cell. CONSTITUTION:Transparent substrates 1 and 2 provided with transparent electrodes 3 and 3 are joined through a seal part 4, and a liquid crystal 5 is charged into the space formed between substrates 1 and 2 from a liquid crystal charging entrance 6 which is provided by notching a part of the seal part 4, and the charging entrance 6 is blocked by a sealing agent 7, thus forming the liquid crystal cell. In this cell, a liquid crystal charging path 8 extending along the outside circumferential part of the cell is provided in the seal part 4, and one end of the path 8 is opened to the space filled up with the liquid crystal, and the other end is opened as the charging entrance 6 to the outside of the space filled up with the liquid crystal. Consequently, the blocking sealing agent is charged into the path 8 by a length L at most, and bubbles which may be charged after sealing are acquired in the path 8, and therefore, they have no bad influence upon the display part of the liquid crystal cell. |
